Best Web Browsers 2022 | Top 5 Great Picks (#1 a surprise?)

Best Web Browsers 2022 | Top 5 Great Picks (#1 a surprise?)

Looking for a secure and reliable web browser? In this video, I have ranked the best web browsers using a tiered list. Make sure to watch this video till the end to find out which one is our top pick.

⏩ SUBSCRIBE: https://thecyberlab.co/subscribe

I’ll be reviewing each web browser based on the same criteria: its features, its availability, whether it’s free or not, and how much the company knows about you based on your weird searches.

We have covered the following internet browsers in our video (these are in no particular order):

#1 Google Chrome

Chrome is by far the most popular web browser in the world.

The free-to-use browser’s popularity is mainly due to its cross-platform compatibility, wide range of extensions, and simple functionality.

When it comes to your privacy, however, Chrome has a few shortcomings. Overall, we’re putting Chrome in the Decent tier.

#2 Microsoft Edge

What we oldies call Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge has evolved into one of the best web browsers in the world.

The browser has become a titan of privacy, with tracking protection across all platforms, robust ad blocking, and allowing you to clear cookies on exit.

If you’re sick of Chrome compromising your privacy, Microsoft Edge is a fantastic alternative, and for this reason, we’re placing it in the Good tier.

#3 Opera

Opera is not a very well-known browser, despite being one of the top 5 browsers used around the world. But, if you’re a gamer, then you should definitely consider switching to Opera, thanks to its light performance impact on all devices.

Simplicity is where Opera shines, and while it doesn’t offer a lot of privacy options, it’s not going to siphon your personal data and sell it off to the highest bidder.

Overall, we’re putting Opera in the Good tier.

#4 Mozilla Firefox

The revitalized version of Firefox now has a much lighter impact on your computer, using far less RAM than before. It offers total tracking protection across all platforms, as well as the ability to clear cookies on exit and partition third-party storage.

Overall, we believe Firefox is the king of privacy, synchronization, and convenience, and for that reason, we’re placing it in the Excellent tier.

#5 Vivaldi

Vivaldi is a spin-off of Opera, taking the best of its parent browser and pushing the limits of customization.

If you’re a power user who wants a lot of customization in their browser, and doesn’t mind a little bit of ethical data collection, then Vivaldi is the browser for you. We’re placing it in the Good category for this one.

#6 Apple Safari

Safari is the native browser for all of Apple’s devices, and if you’ve got an iPhone, you’ve probably used it at least merienda. It’s not exactly the best browser in the world for a lot of reasons. For one, it’s literally only usable on iOS devices.

Safari isn’t all bad, though. Apple is also on top of their synchronization game, with the ability to sync bookmarks, passwords, history, and open tabs across their devices.

It’s just a little lackluster in its convenience and tab handling, which is why we’re putting it in the Not Terrible category.

Stop using VPNs for privacy.

Unfortunately, I had to remove the «PatreonVPN» joke. I have severely underestimated people’s stupidity and getting 10 comments per day saying «you say don’t use vpn but ur sponsored by patreonvpn!!!!» is getting old. Patreon is not a VPN, but you can use it to support my channel (if you want)! https://patreon.com/WolfgangsChannel

Introduction:

Almost all browsers allow their users to block specific types of advertisements but users of Opera have this particular functionality right at their finger tip. You can simply block any annoying advertisement by simply clicking on the ad and blocking it. If Opera’s internal functions aren’t enough, you can even download various extensions and add-ons for example adblock for opera and others.

It’s that simple. Follow this step by step guide and learn how to block ads in opera.

Step # 1 — Opening up any website

We will log in to a hotmail account to show you how to block content manually in opera.

Notice the ad towards the right side of the inbox. In opera, all you have to do is move the cursor over the ad, right click and select the «Block Content» option.

Step # 2 — Blocking the advertisement

With that done, hold the shift key on the keyboard and click on the element that you want to block, in this case we will click on the banner advertisement. Merienda you’re done, the content you selected will be blocked.

Now, even if you refresh the browser, the advertisement towards the right side of the inbox won’t be displayed.

Step # 3 — Adding details

Now simply click on the done button and that’s it. You can click on the details button to add preferences in your browser. This will help you in creating a block list so that you can block ads in opera more efficiently. For example, click on the add button and type in a generic url that might be used for advertisements by websites.

Step # 4 — Adblock Add-on

If you don’t want to manually block advertisements yourself, you can download add-ons that do the job for you. Plug-ins like adblock for opera and others are available in the add-ons sections on opera’s website.

AbEXP case video

AbEXP is an interactive soundscape in the shape of a Google Chrome extension, where ad-block technology turns commercial banners ads on a given website into an audio/visual experience. The different banners share a visual language of grayscale noise and gradients. The time of day decides if its day or night mode, and you can play around with most of the banners to influence the music created by acclaimed danish electronic duo, Kenton Slash Demon.
